Wedding

Mr and Mrs Roberts - Southern Exposure wedding

When we shot Billy and Kelsey’s engagement session earlier this year, I could tell they had an adventurous side. They’re the type of people that aren’t quick to let anything get them down because being together is what really matters. I absolutely love that about them, so when the forecast leading up to their wedding day called for nothing but straight rain, I wasn’t worried. The umbrellas were packed and the energy was high.
Well, this is Michigan, and the entire day’s prediction was changing hour by hour. The ceremony was moved indoors to be safe at the last minute, but we had a few dry skies here and there that we absolutely took advantage of! Kelsey didn’t stop smiling the entire day, and the whole wedding party was 100% down to grab umbrellas and adventure outside for photos. I’m so so happy with the results, it just goes to show there’s nothing to fear about a little rain on your wedding day.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Roberts!

Favorites of 2017 - Weddings

Whew, what a year this has been!
Loads of travel, adventures, and photographing some of the prettiest weddings my eyes have ever seen.
I feel beyond blessed, and so happy to have gotten to know all of you.

As we celebrate the ending of this year, and coming of the next, I wanted to leave you all with a collection of some of my favorite photos from the 2017 wedding season. Some are silly, some are sweet, all make me smile when I see them. It was so hard to bring it down to this few, let me tell you.

To everyone who was a part of my 2017, thank you!

Looking forward to another year filled with amazing people.

Mr and Mrs Fish - A Lawton wedding

The moment Stephanie and Ryan started describing their wedding plans to me, I knew it was going to be completely stunning.
Stephanie's sisters had their own weddings at the Lawton Community Center, and it held a special place in her heart. She wanted to preserve the tradition, but with her own personal twists, which were executed perfectly.
This wedding is exactly why encourage doing a first look so much!
First of all, Ryan's face! I melted!
Second, we had so much time to do portraits that we were able to work with the most ideal lighting, get plenty of photos for everyone, and still have time to sneak out for a few more at sunset.
Third, they actually got to spend their special day together instead of being cooped up in separate rooms, and that was amazing to watch. They both have so much love for each other, and I can't imagine a better celebration.

Also, fireworks,
Yes.

Congratulations Ryan and Stephanie! Looks like there is one less fish in the sea.
